The view from the street:
Vancouver Sun - An officer who is in charge of the Taser program for the Victoria police department told a public inquiry Tuesday that he's uncertain if Tasers cause death. "I think I would be negligent if I stood up here and said they don't cause death," Constable Mike Massine. [LINK]
Wow. Victoria, BC has been a sort-of Taser-central in Canada. That the city where Taser's Canadian distributor is located. It's where Sgt. Laur got perhaps too involved with Taser and was later found to be in an apparent conflict of interest [LINK]. British Columbia has had far more than its fair share of taser-associated deaths (7 of the 20 in Canada). A too-large fraction of the taser news that happens in Canada, happens in BC.
