Canada restricts use of Tasers
OTTAWA - The Royal Canadian Mounted Police announced on Tuesday restrictions on the use of tasers in reaction to the 2007 death of a Polish man who was zapped five times with a stun gun. Use of the devices should be limited to situations where a subject was or might cause bodily harm and targets should be warned beforehand when feasible, the federal police said. ... The RCMP advised on Tuesday that medical help should be sought prior to using tasers and said it would step up testing after some stun guns were found to give more powerful shocks than the manufacturer's specifications.
