There was an interaction between the man and officers, and a Conducted Energy Weapon was used. The man became unresponsive, and was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.[via TNT]
Based on the news reports, the extremely close temporal alignment makes it obvious (in my opinion) that the taser had an immediate and lethal effect.
