Tasering the subject in the back - confusion reigns

Taser International claims that the subject's back makes an ideal target, what with it being less likely to result in a cardiac death. They also now clearly advise that avoiding the chest reduces risk of cardiac effects and death.

Meanwhile, (Western Australia) Police Commissioner Karl O'Callaghan has told his officers to avoid tasering subjects in the back:
"It will be very difficult to convince me that you are acting in self defence if, for example, you Taser someone in the back, someone who is already lying on the ground or is turning away. [LINK]

It's a bit like shooting fish in a barrel lately.

Yes, it's easy to be critical when those you are criticizing... ...are so very clearly in the wrong.
