Mission Statement - De-Spinning the Pro-Taser Propaganda

Yeah right, 'Excited Delirium' my ass...

The primary purpose of this blog is to provide an outlet for my observations and analysis about tasers, taser "associated" deaths, and the behaviour exhibited by the management, employees and minions of Taser International. In general, everything is linked back to external sources, often via previous posts on the same topic, so that readers can fact-check to their heart's content. This blog was started in late-2007 when Canadians were enraged by the taser death of Robert Dziekanski and four others in a short three month period. The cocky attitude exhibited by the Taser International spokespuppet, and his preposterous proposal that Mr. Dziekanski coincidentally died of "excited delirium" at the time of his taser-death, led me to choose the blog name I did and provides my motivation. I have zero financial ties to this issue.

More details on Michael Patrick Jacobs, Jr.

The first CED deployment was prolonged lasting 49 seconds and the second after an interval of one second, lasted for a duration of 5 seconds. The report also revealed Jacobs was struck in the anterior neck and mid-chest over the heart with two tethered shocking probes. The young man was found to have no drugs or alcohol in his system nor did he have any under lying health problems. [LINK]

Hello Im Zandra, the mother of Michael's daughter. I am very upset that this happened and how it happened. There were three police officers and he was handcuffed. My daughter was suppose to see him for the first time this summer, it will never happen. Michael was a good person. He always called to talk to her, but because I am in Arkansas and he was in Texas it was hard to visit. Now I live with regret. I wish I wouldv'e took a week off or made arrangments for my other children to be watched so that they (Michael and Zania) could meet. She is six and even though she has had a male figure around, she will NEVER get to meet her father. The police officer wasn't thinking about Zania, JaMichael (his son), or the future they couldv'e had with Michael. Iv'e learned a valuable lesson which is to never take time for granted. Its time for the police to learn a lesson.

Hello Zandra. You have my deepest sympathy. Micheal's death is tragic. It is also one where, given the evidence, the medical examiner decided that enough was enough.

Taser International maintains their position that tasers simply cannot cause a death. Their position, in the face of deaths such as Micheal's, represents pure corporate evil.

Personally, I blame the police less. They're fairly naive and are being manipulated. But they're still perfectly liable for using a potentially-lethal weapon as if the assurances of the manufacturer takes precedence over the plain facts.

I recommend, if you haven't already, that you contact the immediate family's law firm and file a claim through them.

It's terrible that the only language understood by corporations is the almighty dollar. So speak to them using that language.

Best wishes and good luck.
