Mission Statement - De-Spinning the Pro-Taser Propaganda

Yeah right, 'Excited Delirium' my ass...

The primary purpose of this blog is to provide an outlet for my observations and analysis about tasers, taser "associated" deaths, and the behaviour exhibited by the management, employees and minions of Taser International. In general, everything is linked back to external sources, often via previous posts on the same topic, so that readers can fact-check to their heart's content. This blog was started in late-2007 when Canadians were enraged by the taser death of Robert Dziekanski and four others in a short three month period. The cocky attitude exhibited by the Taser International spokespuppet, and his preposterous proposal that Mr. Dziekanski coincidentally died of "excited delirium" at the time of his taser-death, led me to choose the blog name I did and provides my motivation. I have zero financial ties to this issue.

Former Taser International BoD member Bernie Kerik "plans guilty plea"

White Plains, N.Y. - Bernard Kerik, a former member of the Board of Directors of Taser International (his C.V. has a few other things mentioned...), will reportedly enter a guilty plea to resolve three pending criminal trials... Kerik plans to enter the plea in a federal courtroom on Thursday in a deal that could bring him a recommended prison term of around two and one half years...

See [LINK]

Sources have mentioned that Mr. Kerik will plead guilty to a single charge of conspiracy. This is not confirmed. (UPDATE: This turns out to be incorrect.)

Note - Mr. Kerik's legal problems are apparently not directly connected to Taser International. There is no proven cause-and-effect relationship between his ethical missteps and his association with Taser International.

Bernie Kerik was placed on the Taser Board with the implied assumption that he could "deliver" the New York City Police Department as a very big customer for Taser International. He was Rudi's choice to lead the police in NYC, and his position on the Taser Board was rewarded with an "advance" of hundreds of thousands of Warrants for their stock.

Bernie cashed out with roughly a $6 Million U$D Gain in TASR stock, but he never delivered the NYC Police "Taser Order", much to the disappointment of the folks at Taser International.

Harold Hurtt, the former Phoenix Police Chief delivered far better than Bernie did. Hurtt delivered many orders for tasers from his new job in Houston, all the time owning TASR stock.

Harold Hurtt refused to answer questions about his relationship with Taser International and his ownership of their stock, when he was questioned on the subject.

There are dozens of US police chiefs with similar stories.
