Mission Statement - De-Spinning the Pro-Taser Propaganda

Yeah right, 'Excited Delirium' my ass...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The primary purpose of this blog is to provide an outlet for my observations and analysis about tasers, taser "associated" deaths, and the behaviour exhibited by the management, employees and minions of Taser International. In general, everything is linked back to external sources, often via previous posts on the same topic, so that readers can fact-check to their heart's content. This blog was started in late-2007 when Canadians were enraged by the taser death of Robert Dziekanski and four others in a short three month period. The cocky attitude exhibited by the Taser International spokespuppet, and his preposterous proposal that Mr. Dziekanski coincidentally died of "excited delirium" at the time of his taser-death, led me to choose the blog name I did and provides my motivation. I have zero financial ties to this issue.

Rate of taser (over) use by Western Australia Police boggles the mind

This figure is presented in the context of the Western Australia police.
Tasers were used 3070 times between 2007 and 2009... [WA Police]

Over 3000 taser deployments in an ill-defined period of about two years?!?!!!

I've stated it before and I'll state it again here and now.

Tasers are being used at a rate that is OBVIOUSLY about ONE HUNDRED TIMES the historical rate of use of lethal force.

In other words, before tasers and all their carry-along evil were introduced, the WA Police were not in the habit of shooting to death about a thousand people per year.

Anyone, and I mean ANYONE, that dares to use the argument that "tasers replace guns", or "tasers are safer than guns", or "tasers save lives", or anything remotely similar is either ill-informed to the point of being dangerous, or is a bald-faced liar.

Tasers are OBVIOUSLY being used in place of lower and safer and less-evil forms of "persuasion."
