Mission Statement - De-Spinning the Pro-Taser Propaganda

Yeah right, 'Excited Delirium' my ass...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The primary purpose of this blog is to provide an outlet for my observations and analysis about tasers, taser "associated" deaths, and the behaviour exhibited by the management, employees and minions of Taser International. In general, everything is linked back to external sources, often via previous posts on the same topic, so that readers can fact-check to their heart's content. This blog was started in late-2007 when Canadians were enraged by the taser death of Robert Dziekanski and four others in a short three month period. The cocky attitude exhibited by the Taser International spokespuppet, and his preposterous proposal that Mr. Dziekanski coincidentally died of "excited delirium" at the time of his taser-death, led me to choose the blog name I did and provides my motivation. I have zero financial ties to this issue.

Taser's campaign of lies

Vancouver Sun, May 16, 2008 - ... Puder said he was approached by Taser's international sales manager, responsible for sales in B.C., and Puder recalled asking questions about the testing of the Taser. ... He also discussed with the Taser salesman what happened at the Vancouver airport with Polish immigrant Robert Dziekanski, who died after being zapped by a Taser. He recalls the sales manager saying: "Dziekanski would have died anyway." (Later, outside the inquiry, Puder told reporters that the man said Dziekanski was suffering from alcohol withdrawal.) [LINK]

  1. I doubt that Taser would have any inside information about the coroner's findings.
  2. And if they do have unreleased findings, then several people would need to be fired for leaking same. And the Taser representative charged with interfering with a legal process.
  3. Although smoking is banned on flights, it is still possible to order alcohalic drinks provided you're not being boisterous. So it's rather stupid to choose alcohol withdrawal as the new excited delirium flimsy excuse du jour.
  4. Dying from alcohol withdrawal? Are AA meetings littered with bodies?
It's obviously a bald-faced lie. These people don't even have any shame.

Also, with respect to "...would have died anyway...", that's not a very sound legal defence strategy. See [LINK] .
