A Five Year Study of Ineffective Taser Deployments - Komaal Collie, Florida Gulf Coast University
Tasing Down the Streets: An Analysis of Police Use of Force - Kyle Thomas, Garrett Foster, Caitlin Forbes, Peter Collins, all of Washington State University
I've not (yet) found copies of these studies on-line. Pointers would be appreciated.

I just introduced the Truth Not Tasers Blog to the idea that excessive, repeated uses of stun guns probably constitutes an "assault & battery", even if it was a police officer holding the stun gun, and going way beyond his departmental rules for use of tasers.
"Assault & Battery" is a FELONY.
If a person dies during the commission of a felony, it is considered "Felony Murder". If you knock an old lady over, while trying to snatch her purse, and she dies immediately of an induced heart attack, it is no defense to claim she might have died anyway, due to her pre-existing heart weakness. You will be found guilty, not only of robbery, but felony murder.
Excessive "use of force" may constitute felonious assault, and any death following that felony as a murder.
I'm certain that if a non-law enforcement citizen, used a taser in the commission of a felony, and someone died, the "felony murder" rule would/could be invoked. Why not for the felonious actions of law enforcement using stun technology, where a person who was never brought to a court of law dies at the hands of an out-of-control law enforcement felon?
This may be a new approach to make all those police agencies eager to taser their collars and punish them in the process, re-think their possible felonious assaults.
Here's a picture of the author of the FGCU graduate student who wrote the "Ineffective Taser" study:

He's a 24 year old graduate research assistant, and I doubt his paper has anything important or earth-shattering to contribute.
Good luck.
I hope that you're not dismissing his potential because of his age (24 years old).
As an example, Albert Einstein (b.1879) had a pretty good year in 1905, when he was in his mid-twenties.
No, I'm not dismissing his work due to his age, as much as to the Taser Mouthpiece and Flack he is studying under at Florida Gulf Coast University. Believe me, his professor is no "Einstein". In fact, his professor owns a small company which makes "Taser-compatible" products! How's that for "independence" and "unbiased Taser research"?
Any thoughts on my "Felony Murder" logic? That was the POINT I was trying to make.
Good luck.
Professor Charlie Mesloh is a "Taser Spokes-Puppet" whom I have sent a few choice e-mails, since he has a giant "Conflict-Of-Interest" with the little "Taser Product Company" he and his wife run, while he does "Taser Research" at that University he gets a pay-check from.
The guy is a giant fraud.
Are you surprised? I doubt you are.
Just to expand on Charlie Mesloh's history as an oft-quoted Taser "expert" from Florida Gulf Coast [almost a] University, the guy is on permanent disability from the Venice CA police department, after a "back injury" of very suspicious validity. He moved to Florida and took up teaching. He and his wife also began a private company to sell Taser related products.

"Mesloh served as a police officer for 12 years with the Venice Police
Department in Venice before retiring due to a back injury."
I can understand your reluctance to explore character flaws in Taser Spokes-Puppets, but Charlie Mesloh deserves a very critical look. I think he is "gaming the system" with his permanent disability and his move to Florida where his back injury does not interfere with anything a normal person does.
Good luck.
There seems to be plenty of character flaws amongst some members of The Church of Taser. I've highlighted more than a few on this blog.
I've not dug into Prof. Mesloh, so I'm not going to comment on anything about him.
But it seems that you're digging up some interesting information. You should start your own blog to make sure that nothing you've found goes to waste. Taser foes might find it useful.
