Mission Statement - De-Spinning the Pro-Taser Propaganda

Yeah right, 'Excited Delirium' my ass...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The primary purpose of this blog is to provide an outlet for my observations and analysis about tasers, taser "associated" deaths, and the behaviour exhibited by the management, employees and minions of Taser International. In general, everything is linked back to external sources, often via previous posts on the same topic, so that readers can fact-check to their heart's content. This blog was started in late-2007 when Canadians were enraged by the taser death of Robert Dziekanski and four others in a short three month period. The cocky attitude exhibited by the Taser International spokespuppet, and his preposterous proposal that Mr. Dziekanski coincidentally died of "excited delirium" at the time of his taser-death, led me to choose the blog name I did and provides my motivation. I have zero financial ties to this issue.

Taser International might have forgotten to mention something...

TASER INTERNATIONAL INC, Form: 10-K, Filing Date: 3/15/2010 [LINK]

I searched their 119-page Annual Report for any mention of "Braidwood", "Inquiry", "British Columbia", or "Canada". I didn't find any explicit mention of the Braidwood Inquiry. Did I miss it?

My daughter was tased in South Dakota by an over zealous rookie. She was a police officer from another state that had gone up there because of the stress of the job. She was staying in a small motel and someone kept knocking on her door. After the third time she looked out the peep hole- opened her door with her gun behind her leg and there were two cops hiding on the side of the door. She freaked. They wanted her to come out and she told them she couldn't. She showed them her gun and they freaked. They were talking (all this happened in about 2 minutes) and she was telling them she wasn't going to hurt them and she was putting her gun down. Here comes the third cop (rookie). He was told to "Taser". He thought they said to "Tase Her". Everything was under control but he tased her and everybody yelled at him not to do it because she was holding her gun. She lost control and was shaking uncontrollably - she screamed from pain in her chest and went back and her door slammed shut while her gun let off 10 rounds. She could hear the cops fighting in the hall telling the other guy he was not to shoot anybody that was holding a gun. She finally came out of it (while they were arguing) and opened her door with her hands up. They investigated what happened and the investigator took all the statements. They had a Prosecuting Attorney that wanted to make a name for herself. She had all the cops change their stories and they charged her with 3 counts of attempted murder. Said she went up there with the intent to kill the cops. At her preliminary hearing one cop told the truth - one lied. The judge threw out those charges. It was set for trial and 2 wks before trial the Prosecuting atty got a grand jury investigation and they charged her with more charges. The jury all knew the cops & prosecuting attorney. Her attorney told her not to worry about it - it would be okay. One woman went to church with them. The judge was in a hurry to go on vacation so they didn't call her witnesses or let her testify. She is now serving time with 3 felonies. She was looking at 76 years in prison. The prosecuting attorney said she had cigarette burns on her - it was not from a taser. They tampered with the evidence - it was a Kangaroo court. Thanks to Taser "Tase Her" International - her life has been ruined. She has lost everything and will probably never be able to get a job. She was the most honest, caring officer you could ever meet. She would be the last person I would ever think would be in jail. Even the prison guards are in shock. They don't know what to do with her because SHE SHOULD NOT BE THERE. If anyone has advice or can help - let me know. The judge gave her 5 years but suspended 3 years which I think he did because he has to live and work with these liars.

I'm aware of only one way out. Find a good lawyer, appeal, and sue everyone involved. It can help if you can document several indisputable lies or similar. If it's just "he said / she said", then I'm not aware of any solution.

Maybe get one officer in your side in exchange for not including him in the massive lawsuit.

It's a horrible situation. You've got my sympathy.

Note - seek out a lawyer.
